I'm a Peschong Too

I have had several people email me telling me that they are Peschong's all from this blog. Id love to see more pictures of the family. I have not meet much of my family. My grandfather  Francis Gordon Peschong  hasn't talked about his family much to me and I have only meet 2 of his brothers  Darwin Mathias Peschong  who has past away and John Lyle Peschong  who I meet for the fist time this year.

John was excited to hear that I was doing genealogy on the Peschong family. He had traveled to Luxemburg to research the Peschong family as well.

My aunt Janice Witherspoon emailed me your blogspot page and I read thru your great info! We’re cousins! And there are lots of us. 

My dad Dale Peschong, was the son of Nicholas Peschong & Malinda Helm.  Growing up we all heard many stories of Grandpa and Pete playing baseball.

 

I have done some searching too, and can’t seem to go back past Reinhard. I did find this little blip in a SD history:

 Bernard Peschong farmed in the Lennox, South Dakota area.  In 1903 they sold 160 acres near Lennox, and bought 320 acres near Milbank.

 I have saved your blogspot page (hope that’s OK) and if I find out anything new I can let you know.

My mother is Janice Witherspoon/Peschong … She moved back to Milbank SD when she retired.  She is still alive and living in SD.   Her father/my GF was Nicholas Peschong. (guess where my name came from…)

 

I was looking at taking my girls ( I’m 50 now and have a wife, Terri and two daughters, Ellie and Em…) to Germany and Italy this spring/summer for vacation. Just the other day my mom was telling me to head out to SD for the Peschong family re-union….   I had started my search of where to go (at 5:15am today) in Germany when I came across your page.

 

I just had to throw you a note and say “sup cuz!”   …   If your family is my family… you’ll have to connect with the family and go to the gathering. The aunts are getting up in age… but I’m sure they still recall and have some records. My mom has a massive book with a lot of the family tree.

 

I’ve started to search my files for my copy of the family tree.. will have to find it and send it. Of course the names are so close..but once I saw the note on baseball players I instantly thought about my GF Nick… everyone said he would ride his horse a long way to get into a game….
